Our northern resident and transient orcas (Killer Whales) are the main attraction on this exciting safari. Along the way you will also have a chance to see Pacific white sided Dolphins, Dall’s porpoises, harbour porpoises, Humpback & Minke whales. Harbour seals and sea lions (in season) as well as the majestic bald eagle and other bird life. You may also have a chance to see black bears foraging on the beaches of our spectacular coastline.
We will travel along the scenic Discovery Passage and Johnston Strait in one of our comfortable high speed 31’, Eaglecrafts. Both boats are 12 passenger Transport Canada certified aluminum tour boats with an enclosed heated cabin and a washroom onboard. Bring your camera and take amazing photographs of a breaching Orca. Our boats are safe and spacious with lots of room to maneuver for that perfect picture.
Killer whales are one of the most exciting whales to watch. You can enjoy them close up feeding, breaching, hunting, beach rubbing or playing with each other. Listen to the magical song of the killer whales with our onboard hydrophone. Their high-pitched squeals, squawks and screams will give you goose bumps.
Because our safaris depart from the protected inside waters of the east coast of Vancouver Island, where the waters are calm, our guests are not likely to get seasick. We do not have the rolling motion in our waters that you often find in the open ocean of Vancouver Islands’ west & south coasts.
